scanE's multi-step process provides uses two layers of scans to calculate a rating that's over 97% accurate!

1. Extracts only the text by removing code, links, images, and other non-text content.
2. Looks for keywords to determine if the email is from a blog or company (to filter the elements in the next step).
3. scanE scans the text for certain common AI elements the developer identified through an analysis of over 400 AI-generated scam messages:
   • Common phrases and sign-offs
   • Hidden email tracking and links
   • Emojis and emoji bullets
   • A bold name and envelope emoji in the signature
   • Bulleted and numbered lists
   • Bold and italicized sentences
   • Horizontal lines
   • Punctuation like ellipses and EM dashes
4. Sends the text to the Sapling AI Detector API.
5. Combines the Sapling Ai content score with scores for each of the common AI elements to calculate a percentage chance that the message is AI-generated.
